Luter i filozofia

Kraków, 28-29 września 2017 r.

Szanowni Państwo, Pięćsetletnia rocznica wystąpienia Marcina Lutra w Wittenberdze jest dobrą okazją do zorganizowania konferencji na temat stosunku Ojca Reformacji do filozofii. Pragniemy zorganizować konferencję pt. „Marcin Luter i filozofia”. Chcielibyśmy zastanowić się nad źródłami negatywnych reakcji niemieckiego Reformatora nie tylko do późnej scholastyki, ale i do filozofii w ogóle. Sądzimy, że warto postawić pytanie: czy rzeczywiście Marcin Luter odrzucał pośrednictwo filozofii (zwłaszcza metafizyki), formułując tezy swojej teologii. Jeśli tak, to w jakim zakresie to czynił? Wiemy, że Luter był przekonany, iż myślenie biblijne i refleksja filozoficzna istotnie się różnią i nie ma między nimi punktów wspólnych. Sądził, że treści objawione przez Ducha Świętego w zupełności wystarczają i chrześcijanin nie potrzebuje odwoływać się do myśli Arystotelesa czy Cycerona. Był fideistą, gdy sądził, że wiara jest przeciwna rozumowi. Ale z drugiej strony, sam przyznawał, że tworząc swoją teologię korzystał z narzędzi logiki. Czy zatem teologia miała wyłącznie charakter praktyczny, czy niosła również jakieś przesłanie teoretyczne związane z nową filozofią człowieka? Interesuje nas również, w jaki sposób luteranizm wpłynął w wieku XVI i XVII w Niemczech na rozwój filozofii i nauk humanistycznych. Czy był czynnikiem hamującym czy, przeciwnie, istotnym elementem wspomagającym późniejszy rozwój filozofii niemieckiej? Chcielibyśmy także przyjrzeć się filozoficznej recepcji dzieła Lutra (Heine, Hegel, Feuerbach, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger), wpływowi scholastyki na Lutra (Gabriel Biel), kontekstowi apofatycznemu („Deus absconditus” w Wykładzie Listu do Rzymian, mistyka nadreńska i Theologia Deutsch) oraz filozoficznym założeniom i konsekwencjom teologicznej doktryny Lutra (theologia crucis, teologia stworzenia i zbawienia). Konferencja odbędzie się w dniach 28-29 września 2017 w murach Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego w Krakowie (ul. Podchorążych 2, Nowy Gmach, Aula A1). Serdecznie zapraszamy do udziału! Luther and philosophy

Dear Sirs, The 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's manifest in Wittenberg is a good opportunity to organize a conference on the relationship of the Father of Reformation to philosophy. Hence, we would like to organize a conference entitled „Martin Luther and philosophy”. We would like to reflect upon the sources of the Reformer's negative attitude towards late scholastics and philosophy in general. We consider it worth stating the question whether Martin Luther really rejected the mediation of philosophy (especially metaphysics) when he formulated the theses of his theology. Even if he did, then to what extend? We know that Luther was convinced that biblical thinking and philosophical reflection are essentially different and don't coincide. He believed that the revelations of the Holy Spirit are sufficient and a Christian doesn't need any reference to Aristotle or Cicero. Was he a fideist when he claimed that faith is against reason? But on the other hand he admitted that his theology was created with the aid of logic. Therefore, did his theology only have a practical character, or did it also entail a theoretical message, a renewal of anthropology. We are also interested in the way in which lutheranism influenced the development of German philosophy and humanities in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Was it a hindering factor, or just the opposite, an element that essentially stimulated the subsequent growth of German philosophy? We would also like to examine the philosophical reception of Luther's oeuvre (Heine, Hegel, Feuerbach, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger), the influence of scholastics on Luther (Gabriel Biel), the apophatic context („Deus absconditus” in the Lectures on Romans, Rhineland mysticism, Theologia Deutsch), and philosophical assumptions and consequences of Luther's theological doctrine (theologia crucis, teology of creation, redemption, and sin). We kindly invite you to participate in the conference on the 28-29th of September 2017 at the Pedagogical University of Cracow (ul. Podchorążych 2, New Edifice, Auditorium A1).
